Chris Townsend

Chief Executive Officer
International General Insurance

Chris Townsend is Chief Executive Officer of AIG’s International General Insurance operations, which includes all Commercial and Personal insurance outside of North America. In this role, he has end-to-end responsibility for underwriting, claims, distribution and operating strategy across the company’s extensive international footprint. Chris is a member of the General Insurance Executive team.

Mr. Townsend is a highly experienced industry veteran. He has deep global expertise gained over 25 years working in both property casualty and life insurance markets. Previously, he served as President of MetLife's Asia region, responsible for all businesses across 11 markets, and as a member of the company's Executive Group. He joined MetLife from AIG, where he started his career in 1991, and held senior roles with increasing responsibility in London, New York, Singapore, Sydney and Hong Kong. From 2010 to 2012, Mr. Townsend was Chief Executive Officer of AIG’s Asia Pacific region.

Mr. Townsend holds a number of advisory positions, including Advisor to the Asia Society and the Seoul International Business Advisory Council (SIBAC). He is a Chartered Insurer.

Thomas Lillelund

Chief Executive Officer AIG Europe SA

Mr. Thomas Lillelund has been CEO for Europe at AIG since November 1st, 2018.

Before joining AIG, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Aspen Re based in London since May 2016 and prior to this role the Managing Director of Aspen Re In Asia Pacific since 2008. Mr. Lillelund spent four and a half years at AIG in Southeast Asia where he was the Regional Vice President for Commercial Property. He held underwriting management roles at Swiss Re in Hong Kong and South Africa and began his underwriting career at Gen Re in the United States in 1995. In this role he undertook further study to become an Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) of the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters.

Mr. Lillelund served as the Chairman of the Singapore Reinsurance Association (SRA) from 2014 to 2016 and was a member of the Board of the Singapore College of Insurance from 2015 to 2016. He was also on the organising committee for the Singapore International Reinsurance Conference (SIRC) during this period.

He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Economics from the The College of William & Mary in Virginia and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario.

Charlie Kitson

Head of Client Engagement, AIG

Charlie leads Client Engagement internationally and is Head of Client Engagement for Europe & UK. The team is responsible for delivering the breadth of AIG's expertise, capabilities and knowledge to our most valuable major clients.

Amongst other responsibilities, Charlie also leads the AIG Risk Management Academy (ARMA), which has been designed to help develop hundreds of Risk Managers across Europe.

Charlie joined AIG in 2006 in Hong Kong, where he built and led AIG’s Major Accounts Practice across South East Asia and China – before moving to Paris in 2009 to lead AIG’s Major Accounts team for Europe. He then joined AIG’s EMEA team in London in 2012.

Charlie has over 27 years’ experience in the insurance industry - beginning as a broker in the London market before moving to Asia where he held a number of senior commercial positions – including as a Board Director for JLT in Hong Kong and then Regional Managing Director for JLT Asia’s major corporate and multinational business. Prior to joining the insurance industry, Charlie had 4 years’ experience working in investment banking with NM Rothschild & Sons in London

Jeremy Sharpe

Head of Broker Engagement, AIG

Jeremy is Head of Broker Engagement (BE) for UK/Europe and leads the community across AIG International. Jeremy has 28 years’ experience in the broking, bancassurance and risk management sectors of the industry.

Prior to joining AIG in 2014 he spent 12 years at HSBC and lead Group's Insurable Risk Management function with responsibility for leading the development and execution of the Group's insurable risk management strategy. Prior to joining the Global Risk Function Jeremy lead the development and implementation of the global commercial bancassurance strategy at HSBC focusing on the manufacture and distribution of life and non-life insurances to meet the protection & wealth needs of commercial banking customers around the world.

Jeremy has 18 years’ experience as an insurance broker with CE Heath, Glenrand and HSBC focusing on the global banking and financial services sector including responsibility for leading the business development, relationship management and broking functions.

Jeremy has a BA(Hons) degree in Banking, Insurance & Finance and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).

Steve Agutter

Head of International Claims, General Insurance,
Chief Claims Officer, AEL Europe Ltd

Steve joined AIG in 1991, specialising in property claims.  He established the specialist energy claims unit in the London office in 1997, responsible for handling many multi-million pound losses and Catastrophes around the world.

In 2001 he was appointed UK Claims Manager responsible for the management of all commercial and personal lines claims and in 2007 was promoted to Regional Claims Manager for UK & Ireland. At the same time he became a member of the UK Executive Committee.

In 2010, Steve was appointed the European Claims Director responsible for leading the region and delivery of the claims strategy. He was also responsible for leading and delivering the regional claims transformation project in Europe.

In 2013, Steve took on a Global role as Head of Property Claims and then for Property & Special Risks in 2016, responsible for 450+ adjusting staff in 54 countries handling Property, Energy, Aerospace, Marine and Credit Lines claims. In 2016, Steve’s role extended to that of the Chief Claims Officer, AEL and he was reappointed to the AEL Executive Committee.  

Most recently, in February 2018 Steve was appointed Head of International Claims responsible for all commercial and personal lines claims across the UK and Europe, Japan, China, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean. Steve also maintains Global Specialty lines in his new role including North America. Steve is based in the AIG London office.

Noona Barlow

UK Head of Claims, International Head of Financial Lines Claims, AIG

Noona practised law in Toronto for a number of years before moving into the insurance sector. She moved to London in 2006 and joined AIG in 2009.

Noona oversees our financial lines claims adjusters across Europe, who deal with a wide variety of claims, including D&O, professional indemnity, crime, M&A and cyber. Noona also heads up our AIG UK Claims group.

David Bogaert

Head of Distribution, Belgium

David Bogaert was born in Leuven (Belgium). He holds a Bachelor Degree in communication. David started his career at AIG in 2002 in the Operations Department. After taking up several functions in Operations, he became Underwriter Directors and Officers Liability within the Financial Lines Department in 2006.

In 2010 he joined the Sales Department of AIG in Belgium, to become the Broker Relationship Manager for Belgium. After taking the position of Corporate Accounts Manager in 2013, he became responsible for AIG’s strategy and relationship to the Belgian insurance brokers.

As from 2017 his career evolved into his current position as Head of Distribution Belgium, responsible for promoting the quality of products, services and solutions to AIG’s Brokers and Clients.

Egon Bril

Head of Distribution AIG Netherlands

Egon is leading the Dutch Distribution Department as the Head of Client & Broker Engagement and Chair of the Dutch Client Advisory Board. In this role he is responsible for turning an effective client- and broker strategy into practice and works closely with the Management- and Underwriting teams to transform business opportunities into commercial success.

Egon has more than 25 years of experience in the Financial Industry. After starting his career as a Financial Controller, he worked as a broker and as a recruiter for financial and Oracle/SAP professionals. Since 2004 he has been commercially building the Dutch AIG business in the roles of A&H Account Relationship Manager and Major Account Relationship Manager. Egon holds a degree in Business & Economics and Commercial Economics.

Mark Camillo

Head of Cyber, EMEA

Mark Camillo is Head of Cyber, EMEA and is responsible for the CyberEdge® suite of end-to-end risk management solutions at AIG.
Prior to this role, Mark led the cyber team for the Americas including oversight of the Personal Identity Coverage (PIC) and Payment Fraud Products.

Mark joined AIG in 2001 and has held positions of increasing management responsibility in various parts of the organization including eBusiness Risk Solutions, Affinity Group, Accident & Health, Professional Liability, and the Fidelity team.

Prior to AIG, Mark worked in sales, marketing, and product development for Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) and SITEL Corporation. Mark has a Masters of Business Administration from SUNY Buffalo and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming.

Brune Costes

Director - Client and Global Brokers Engagement & Alternative Distribution

Brune is the Head of Distribution - Major Accounts of AIG in France, based in Paris.

She is responsible for the development of strategic partnerships with AIG France largest multinational clients and Top 5 brokers. As part of her role, Brune is also responsible for the expansion of our alternative distribution strategy with various partners such as bank insurers and wholesalers.

Prior to assuming her current responsibilities, she held various positions with AIG including Major Accounts Development Manager and Head of Client Directors.

She has worked with AIG for 8 years and has 23 years of experience in the insurance industry, beginning as a broker on the French  market as Major Accounts Liability Specialist and Client Executive. Before joining AIG, Brune was Insurance Manager of Lafarge, building materials company, within their Risk and Insurance Corporate team.

Brune holds a Master's degrees in Business Law and Insurance Law from Paris Pantheon Sorbonne University.


Martin Cyril Jorgensen

Head of Accident and Health, Europe

Martin Cyril Jørgensen was appointed to his current role Head of Accident and Health, Europe, in June 2019. In this role Martin has accountability and responsibility for all Accident and Health underwriting within Continental Europe. Martin brings over 20 years of international experience within A&H. Since joining AIG in 2014, he has successfully led the A&H business in the Nordics.

Prior to this, Martin was Head of Global Sales for Globality Health SA, a Munich Re company based in Luxembourg, and also worked for Aon in Denmark as insurance broker for its Global Accounts Division.

Marco Dalle Vacche

General Manager Italy and Cluster Head MEDI
AIG Europe S.A., Italy

Mr. Dalle Vacche joined AIG in 1996 and was appointed as Liabilities and Financial Lines underwriter. Since than he has held several different managerial positions within AIG Italy including Liabilities Profit Centre Manager, Major accounts Segment Manager and Commercial Manager before being appointed General Manager in 2011.  

In 2014 he took over the role of Managing Director South Zone, including  Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Israel, Greece, Cyprus and Malta while retaining the General Manager position in Italy.
In 2016 he expanded his responsibilities to South Europe including France and joined the Executive Committee of AIG Europe Limited, based in London.

In 2018 he took over the lead of the AIG “Mediterranean cluster” (MEDI Cluster).

He is member of the BoD of  CINEAS.

Prior to joining AIG, Marco Dalle Vacche worked for an international legal firm in Milan and held underwriting positions in Groupama  in Milan and Paris.

Mattias Fritz

Branch Manager Sweden, AIG Europe S.A.

Mattias was born in Sweden but grow up partly in France. He holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business from the Stockholm School of Economics and EM Lyon.

Mattias joined the global trainee program of AIG in 2006, after a couple of years with the auditing firm E&Y. Since joining, Mattias has held a number of positions within Financial Lines. Before taking on the Branch Manager role for Sweden Mattias was heading the Nordic Financial Lines and Liability department.

Chloé Green

Head of Events, AIG

Chloé works within the Marketing department for AIG, heading up the events team. She is based in London and her team are responsible for managing the client and broker events, training sessions, sponsorships and hospitality.

Chloe has been working in the insurance industry for over 10 years. She joined AIG in August 2010 as Marketing Executive for the UK Client Engagement team. Prior to this, she worked as the Event Manager for AIRMIC, The Association of Insurance and Risk Managers for the UK.

Patrick Heiner

Manager Liability Germany

Patrick joined AIG in January 2018. Most recently, he was responsible for Liability in Southern Germany. Prior to joining AIG, he held the position of Head of Casualty and Financial Lines, Corporate Insurance Risk Management, within an in-house brokerage for a multinational aerospace company.


Michael S Jensen

General Manager Nordics

Michael joined AIG in 1992 in Denmark as Account Manager and moved to AIG Romania as Head of Commercial Lines in 1994. In 1997 to 1999, Michael worked in Winterthur International Denmark as Account Manager and re-joined AIG in 1999 as the General Manager of AIG Romania.

Michael worked at senior management levels in numerous countries of AIG Europe: he was the General Manager of AIG Romania until 2002 and was then appointed the General Manager AIG Kazakhstan (2002 – 2004). In 2004, he was appointed as the General Manager of AIG Poland.

In 2010, Michael moved to the Middle East and Africa Region as the Managing Director of AIG Egypt Insurance Company SAE and in 2012, he assumed the dual role and worked as the Commercial Lines Manager - Arabia and North Africa until 2014.

In April 2014, the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region of AIG announced a series of new appointments following a restructure of its management team. Michael was appointed as the Managing Director of the Middle East and North Africa Zone of AIG.

Effective January 2018 Michael moved back to his native Denmark to take up the position as General Manager Nordics overseeing AIG’s operations in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. In this role he is responsible for leading market-facing activities and strategic execution.

Michael holds an MBA Degree from the New York Institute of Technology. He is married with two children.

Lesley Kinahan

Events Manager

Lesley joined AIG in September 1990 as PA to the Global Head of Property. After 4 years Lesley became EA to the Head of Commercial Lines before moving to the Marketing Department in 1997 as a Marketing Assistant.  The following year she was promoted to Corporate Events Manager with the role expanding to include managing the company’s attendance and stands at various industry related events and all large AIG organized conferences.  As well as having responsibility for all corporate hospitality events and memberships Lesley is also responsible for managing the company’s promotional gift site for both the UK and EMEA regions.

Before joining AIG Lesley worked as a PA to the Head of Graduate Recruitment at GEC Sensors, prior to which she held various PA/Administrative positions across a variety of industries and companies.

Anita Kwasniewski

Client and Broker Events & Hospitality Manager, AIG

Anita joined the UK team as Client and Broker Events & Hospitality Manager in June 2016, and previously worked with the EMEA team as Client Coordinator. Prior to joining AIG in 2013, Anita managed events for private and corporate clients in central London venues. She also worked for Formula One Management and Formula One World Travel, managing accreditation access and on-site travel logistics for international F1 races.

Alongside her events roles, Anita has several years’ experience as a costume supervisor and designer for film, dance and theatre productions. She recently completed a Masters (Distinction) in Arts & Cultural Enterprise with a focus on events, and has a BA Honours, both from UAL: Central Saint Martins. Anita is also a Fellow of The RSA and has completed The Chartered Insurance Institute Award in London Market Insurance.

Ed Levin

Global Head of A&H

Ed joined AIG in February 2019 as Global Head of Accident and Health, General Insurance. In this role Ed is responsible for the global A&H portfolio, including distribution and underwriting strategy.

Ed joined AIG from Chubb where he served in a number of executive roles including Division President of International A&H and, most recently, as Group Digital Business Officer. Prior to this he spent four years at ACE Europe as Executive Vice President of A&H, Life and Personal Lines. He has also held roles at Citigroup and Booz Allen Hamilton.

Ed relocated from New York to London earlier this year.

Nepomuk Loesti

Head of Financial Lines Europe | AIG Europe S.A.

Nepomuk Loesti is Head of Financial Lines Europe. Nepo is based in Munich and responsible for AIG Europe’s Financial Lines business for 20 countries. Prior to that he served as Head of Liabilities, Financial Lines & Client Engagement for the AIG operations in the DACH region, which comprises Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Before that he was Financial Lines Manager DACH region.

Nepomuk Loesti joined AIG in Switzerland in 2006. There he held various managerial positions in Financial Lines before he got promoted to Senior Regional Underwriter for Commercial D&O and Crime in 2009 at AIU HQ in New York. In this international position he was the central referral point for the worldwide High-Risk D&O and Crime business outside the United States.

In 2010 Nepomuk Loesti assumed the position of European Financial Institutions Underwriting Manager in the regional team of AIG in London with responsibility for the European Financial Institutions business which was extended to cover Middle East and Africa. In 2013 Nepomuk Loesti also took charge of AIG Financial Lines teams in Switzerland and Austria as Profit Center Manager Financial Lines from our Zurich office.

Nepomuk Loesti graduated in business economics at the University of Passau and holds a post-graduate degree as Master of Laws from the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster with a specialty in insurance law.

Stephen D.G. Morton

Head of Multinational , AIG Europe S.A.

Stephen has over 20 years’ experience in the global insurance and reinsurance industry and has been with AIG since 2003.

His AIG career started in the Bermuda office, followed by Paris, then London and he is now back in Paris again.  In his current role, he is responsible for the design and service delivery of multinational insurance programmes, with or without a captive, for multinational businesses with headquarters in Europe (excluding UK).

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurer.

Alexander Nagler

Germany, Austria, Switzerland

Alexander Nagler is Managing Director of AIG DACH and member of AIG Europe S.A.’s Executive Committee. Alex is based in Frankfurt and is responsible for leading AIG’s capabilities in the market and executing the business strategies across the three countries. Alex works closely with the AESA Executive Committee and regional senior management to ensure that AIG has the structure, resources, talent, and regulatory governance to execute these strategies successfully.

Alex has a proven track record in the insurance industry, having started 20 years ago with AIG in New York. His past 16 years were spent in Europe, working actively in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland. Alex was in Financial Lines Underwriting and leadership roles of increasing responsibility over 10 years, prior to switching into Executive Management.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Double Major in History and Political Science, from Connecticut College, New London, CT/USA. He is dual citizen of the United States of America and Austria.

Since 2018, Alex in addition is Board Member of Validus Reinsurance (Switzerland) Ltd.

Marcello Orlandini

Relationship Manager for Clients & Large Brokers  (AIG Italy)

21 years experience in the insurance industry, 17 of which in AIG.
Through time has covered different positions: Started as a pollution underwriter, moving to Casualty major accounts underwriting across all products. After 7 years moved to Global Fronting, where he acquired his Risk Management expertise. 2 years later moved to Distribution, as an Account Relationship Manager. In 2 years became Major accounts Manager driving Client Engagement in Italy,  with responsibility for Risk Management and Account Relationship functions.

Have been acting as South Zonal lead for Client, actively involved in the  European Construction Industry Practice Group and acting as CARM on claims involving Major clients.

Currently Relationship Manager for Clients & Large Brokers for AIG Italy. Always involved in most delicate relationships. Client Director for major relationships and managing #1 client of the Italian Branch for last 10 years.
Has earned a degree in Business Administration from the American University of Paris and a Master in Media Management.

Eelco van Keimpema

Head of Casualty for Europe

Eelco van Keimpema is the Head of Casualty for Europe. Eelco has over 15 years of international experience within Casualty. With a background in law, he began his insurance career as a Liabilities Underwriter for (HDI)-Gerling in 2006 and has worked in the Netherlands, South Africa and, most recently, in the UAE, where he led Commercial Insurance for AIG MEA.

Since joining AIG in 2008, Eelco has served the Casualty business in roles of increasing responsibility, including Regional Head of Casualty, MEA; Head of Liability and Financial Lines, MENA, Africa and Eastern Europe; and, Head of Underwriting, MENA.

Jeroen Zohlandt

General Manager for AIG BeNeLux

Jeroen Zohlandt is the General Manager for AIG BeNeLux. Jeroen has been in this role since April 2016 and is based in Rotterdam. He joined AIG in 1999 where he initially held various Financial Lines Underwriting positions, including that of Regional Underwriting Officer.

In 2011, he became Profit Centre Manager for Financial Lines and Casualty. His subsequent roles as part of the Distribution team with responsibility for the corporate market segment and then Executive Officer of AIG Europe Limited, Netherlands, enabled him to broaden his knowledge of the company.

Jeroen has 18 years’ experience in the insurance industry and holds a Master's Degree in Law from the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
